Cindy has worked for the City of Junction City for over 21 years. She started her career in the customer service department where you would pay your water/trash/sewer bills, pay loans, make reservations, or have other day-to-day transactions. Over the years, she took on additional roles as the utility billing manager, accounts payable, and customer service manager. Cindy enjoyed serving the community, whether it was helping people understand their bills or just talking with them. She knew a good majority of the regular customers by first name basis, and if she didn’t see them, but they saw her, they made a point to say hello to her. In September 2020, Cindy decided to change her career path and transferred from the customer service department to the police department to be the Chief of Police Administrative Assistant. She is responsible for the day-to-day Office Operations, Accounts Payable, Budget, and applying for grants, to name just a few. The position keeps her pretty busy, that is for sure, but she enjoys what she does.
She moved to the Junction City/Fort Riley area when she was very young due to her father being active military. He was an Aircraft Maintenance inspector assigned to The Big Red One Division on Fort Riley. After he retired, her parents decided to make Junction City their home. Both she and her brother are Junction City High School alumni.
Cindy enjoys volunteering as much as she can. Since 2008, she has helped with The Kansas Law Enforcement/Special Olympics Torch Run in the summer and The Polar Plunge in the winter. She is on the Earth Day Clean Team Committee, and she is the Treasurer for Freedom Fest.
Over the years, she has received awards, such as being recognized as a 2021 Crimestoppers Employee of the Year. Received Employee of the Year by The City of Junction City in 2008, 2016, and 2021. She is also a 2013 Crossroad of Leadership graduate.
Cindy is in a long-term relationship with Matt Paquette, who works for The Junction City Police Department as a Captain of Operations. He is a board member for HUD Housing and for the KS Law Enforcement Special Olympics. They have 3 kids and 1 granddaughter. They enjoy spending time with family and friends and take vacations by going on cruises with them.
