The Crisis Center, Inc. was founded in 1979 and incorporated in 1981 with a mission to provide free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The Crisis Center's mission is centered around helping community members who are in need find safety, security, and a life free from violence.
The Crisis Center, Inc. is the only accredited community-based domestic violence and sexual assault victim advocacy organization serving Clay, Geary, Pottawatomie, Marshall, and Riley counties, as well as the Fort Riley military installation. The Crisis Center provides a set of core services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All services provided by the Crisis Center are free and confidential. Core services provided by the Crisis Center include a 24-hour crisis hotline; crisis intervention; personal advocacy; medical advocacy; court advocacy; law enforcement/ police response advocacy; emergency accommodations; safe shelter; supportive counseling; support groups; child/youth and parent/child advocacy; and community awareness and education. The Crisis Center also operates the 24/7 statewide Kansas Crisis Hotline.
