Thank you for your interest in serving on the United Way of Junction City/Geary County Board of Directors. Our board plays a vital role in advancing our mission, strengthening our community, and ensuring that United Way continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of local individuals and families.
We are seeking dedicated community leaders who are passionate about making a difference, willing to share their time and talents, and committed to helping United Way achieve its goals. Board service is an opportunity to connect with other community-minded individuals, contribute your expertise, and help shape the future of our organization.
Board Meeting Expectations
Board meetings are held monthly on the second Friday of each month from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. There is no board meeting in December, as we gather for our annual Board Christmas Party instead.
Board Member Responsibilities
As a member of the Board of Directors, you will be expected to:
- Attend and actively participate in monthly board meetings.
- Support and promote the mission, vision, and values of United Way.
- Always act in the best interest of the organization and the community we serve.
- Provide leadership, insight, and strategic guidance.
- Share ideas and support fundraising and resource development efforts.
- Leverage personal and professional networks to increase community awareness and engagement.
- Serve as an ambassador for United Way within the community.
- Participate in special events, volunteer opportunities, and committee work as needed.
- Advocate for the needs of local individuals, families, and partner organizations.
- Help build relationships with donors, businesses, community partners, and stakeholders.
